Does anyone use this headset? If so do you ever fail to get the surround sound effect in game? It seems like people can sneak up on me from behind and I have a hard time telling what direction they are coming from. Attachments:

I use that headset and do have that problem sometimes but I have a very similar home theater set up as you and have that same problem without headset and sometimes will lose all sound for a couple minutes on either set up. Sometimes wonder about internet connection or if it has something to do with server.

I think it's the server. I have noticed so many problems with the game.

Is that the Sony headset that sells for around $100 bucks? If so, two big thumbs up. I have a good home theater system and I prefer having the headset on for all games.
You can, or at least I can hear the footsteps well when I'm playing in a non-Old Skull group. There is less talking in those situations.

Ha there is less talking unless some little kid has his motion camera plugged in. I really hate that shit! Yeah It's the Sony headset, but my wife is awesome and she got it from Best Buy for $69 and a free $20 gift card. I have a pretty awesome home system and I prefer the headset as well. I like the fact that you can turn the mic off and it still picks up your voice so you aren't yelling at everyone that tries to talk to you. Anybody ever try out the 3D capability of the PS3? I have a 3D tv and I was wondering what it's like, but am to lazy to get out the glasses and all that.

I have 3D and played MLB The Show. You can see the debt difference but it's not eye popping like a movie. Also, you have to play with the 3D settings in the game to get it just right, its not automatic.

What kind of 3D t.v. do you have, active or passive? I have active and I think it is better than passive, but I have never had a passive t.v. so I don't know for sure. Just going by the demo tvs in the store.

Also have an Active TV. From what I read, passive is not recommended. I guess the viewing is not as good as active.
I have a Samsung 55" 7000 series.
